Reading, my refuge.

Not to be a foghorn about my love for reading, but y'all know it is all true. Lately, this little escape of my life has been slipping through my fingers, quite literally, so the past month or so has been all about holding onto the pages of my books with determination and fear at the same time.

We all have hobbies or habits that lead us through life; some people gym, some swim, while some prefer to doomscroll, and it is necessary to have that pillar of support; reading has been mine ever since I remember. Whenever life got hard or loud, I curled up with a book or two, but what do you do when there's no time or space for you to do it anymore?

You do what I do, you spiral. LOL, no, but seriously, I picked up books more earnestly than ever, I armed my Kindle, and I treated myself to a bookstore visit and loaded my backpack with a book or two too. And now, it's time to report my progress.

Not to make this website into a Dear Diary page, but it kinda is at this point.

So fellas, let's deep dive:

Fearless by Lauren Roberts dropped as scheduled and arrived on my doorstep no later than 10 days from the release day! When did I read it, you ask? Well, sometime in May.

And I've so many thoughts, none of them are good. Am I happy that Paedyn and Kai got their Happily Ever After? Well, sure, yes. Am I okay with how they got it? Hell no.

I expected more pining and fighting for your love, not a plain old tale of resigning to fate for the larger cause. I didn't like the eventual end of Kitt's character too, making him lose his freaking mind was devious but it still backfired. So, compared to the first two parts, Fearless is nowhere close to the mark.

Next up is Ana Huang's King Of Envy, and I didn't really carry any expectations when I dived into it, so from a scale of 0, it certainly ranked at 80. The concept or the plot of the book wasn't novel as such (did you see what I did there), and yet it did keep me captivated. For readers who are into romance, dark or not, you might like this one.

And I did actually read Wild Side by Elsie Silver, and it was plain and simple, and lovey-dovey, and yeah, that's my review for it.

I also discovered a new author called Elliott Rose, and the cowboy series that I'm reading is absolutely amazing. After all, Forbidden Romance is my kryptonite and always will be. I'm on the second book of the series called Braving the Storm, and I'm right at the point where the lead characters are getting their Happily Ever After, and my romantic little heart is full-on squealing in happiness.

Oh, the joy of love!

I'm also expecting a few releases to show up on KU, fingers crossed it happens soon.

As of now, I'm reading How To Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie, and it's a sharp swerve away (if you know you know) from my usual dose of romance and fantasy, but I'm in for the ride.

I hope to be here with updates, hopefully soon. Till then, adios!

It is difficult to tell just how much books mean to me..seems silly right? I'm reader, literally surrounded by words but unable to express!

Books are my respite from the dreariness of life, from the weight of expectations, and prying eyes of society, it is a reprieve that nobody can take away from me! And for that, I'll always be thankful.

Hi, I'm Pooja aka 'that reading enchantress. This page is my courageous attempt to carve a space for myself in this big fat world.

And yes, that is my hand holding the beautiful pendant of a book with a picture of books inside it.

Thankyou for being here, really.
